Gender Pregnancy Scans from our Douglas, Isle of Man clinic.
From 16 weeks.
How exciting - time to discover the gender of baby!
During the scan we measure your baby’s head circumference to confirm gestational age. We look at baby’s heartbeat and movements.
If your baby is not in a good position to enable us to see the gender clearly, then we may ask you to do some gentle movements to encourage them to move. After we have announced your baby's gender, we provide an explanation of the ultrasound markers that we have seen and point out your baby’s genitals.
If you are doing a gender reveal then we are more than happy to not tell you in the clinic and write in down for you to take away. We always provide you with a ‘potty shot’ to take home so that you can see the gender for yourself after your reveal!
Please note that no ultrasound practitioner will ever 100% guarantee the gender of your baby, however, our experienced sonographer holds a reputation for providing very accurate gender opinions.
35 minute private appointment ~ £110.00.
We allow 35 minutes for your Gender Pregnancy Scan.
The pregnancy scan itself takes approx. 15 to 20 minutes, so our generous 35 minute pregnancy scan appointments allow you more time to ask questions and discuss findings with our Midwife Sonographer Jenifer.
Allowing for Mother Nature during Pregnancy Scans.
No medical practitioner should ever 100% guarantee the gender of your baby before delivery. The scan is therefore based on what is seen and the opinion of our experienced Midwife Sonographer. If baby is being tricky and it is impossible to get the information we are looking for on the day of your scan, we are happy to offer a rescan at a later date, for a small fee of £15.
“Had our gender scan this morning with the lovely Jen. Such a lovely experience - was nice not to be rushed and Jen told us about everything to do with baby and what was happening inside.
Most definitely sure of the sex. Thank you so much!! X”

Preparation for your Gender Scan:
If you are under 20 weeks please come with a half full bladder. If you are over 20 weeks you do not need a full bladder. Regardless of gestation, having something sugary to eat or drink about 15 minutes before your scan time may help encourage baby to be active (not recommended if you have gestational diabetes).
